Ah, another T-Storm lover. Always knew winter as finally in its last half when the January Chinook came and the 1st T-storm of the year came - small though it was. I have noticed also that our Chicago Area storms have become less dramatic and shorter in the past few years and this year we had no Jan. storm. But the really great ones I've seen were up in Wisconsin north of the Dells. Some real house shakers of thunder and frog stranglers.

Spring around here means daily monsoon-like thunderstorms every afternoon! Yeah - they're kinda cool - until August when it just makes the day hotter and stickier!

I don't know if I'd miss them if I moved somewhere else, though.

I grew up in CT where we have lovely huge thunderstorms, sometimes every day in the summer. Now I live in L.A., where I've experienced only a handful of mild ones in ten years. But I'm getting married in July at 5:30 in the afternoon (PRIME thunderstorm time), and part of me thinks it would be hilarious if one rolled through during our outdoor ceremony! My fiance and I wouldn't mind getting soaked but I think the guests might. So hopefully it won't actually happen, but part of me would be thrilled if it did!

De-lurking to say that I love our thunderstorms, although we've had woefully few of them here in Chicago the last couple of years. Lots of drenching rain, but not the storms. I'd be that excited too - the first thunderstorm of the year is just about the best part of spring.
